Hearing Miley singing about buying ourselves our own flowers was empowering AF. But let’s be real, buying ourselves flowers should be the very beginning, most basic form of our collective self-love journey.

It is our time to love ourselves, unconditionally.

It is our time to embrace our bodies, unconditionally.

It is our time to say F*&% the War on Women, unconditionally.

One of the best ways to accomplish all three…be unapologetically you.

If that means dancing on a roof at sunset with nothing but the flowers you bought yourself. Do it!

Don’t let the fear of judgment stop you. We as the collective feminine are at our most powerful when we are unapologetically ourselves.

This photoshoot was the brainchild of Haley, Sacramentos’ hair and makeup artist extraordinaire!

Her vision was simple, yet powerful. Freedom from societal expectations, sunsets, rooftops and of course dope flowers provided by Poppy and Pot!

I was honored to be invited to capture the magic. Portrait sessions are one of my favorite things. They are an opportunity to create individualized magic, to savor this moment in the exact time we are living it. I believe every human is perfect as-is, and they deserve the experience of seeing their beauty through the lens of appreciation and love.

P.S. Whenever I have my portrait taken, I go through all the same feelings y’all do! It starts with fear, anxiety, excitement… Despite these initial feelings every session always ends with me feeling fucking awesome about myself and where I am!
